Do Ecoo profiles and posts warp due to temperature fluctuations?
Temperature differences in the material could cause the product to warp over time.
The more solid the material, the less warping occurs.Â
Ecoo's reinforced profiles (co-extruded profiles) do not expand. They are specially designed for this purpose.
Â
What are the Ecoo products made of?
From the residual plastics you sort at home or hard plastics you take to the recycling park. This ranges from a yoghurt pot to a bucket. We recycle all your plastic waste into new raw materials after which we turn them into sustainable products. In this way, we come full circle together and you contribute to a sustainable world.Â
What is the lifespan of Ecoo products?
Depending on the product type and application, the lifespan will be 10 to 30 years or even longer under normal use.
With circularity in mind, our products have an infinite lifespan as they can be recycled into new products when they show too many signs of wear and tear.
Are Ecoo products really sustainable?
Yes, not only are our raw materials recycled. We also use green energy, purify our water & do not discharge water. Sustainable, that's all the way!Â
Are Ecoo materials safe for the environment?
Ecoo materials are completely safe for humans and the environment.
They have been used successfully for decades by numerous satisfied users at home and abroad and are 100% safe. In nature, herbs, vegetables and other plants grow abundantly against the Ecolat or Ecoplanc borders and we see, for example, that the composting process is not disturbed in an Ecoo compost bin.
Ecoo's recycled plastic complies with the strict European Toys Directive and has been tested for safety by several official research institutes.
The specific information on this can be found in the ‘Material properties’ sheet (Point 12. Toys Directive). The various official research reports can be consulted in our offices.
The Ecoo materials are made from a mix of your 100% household residual plastics. These include the packaging foils, yoghurt pots, butter dishes, charcuterie packaging, spice containers, etc., which are sorted by citizens today in the PMD bag. All these plastics meet the strictest requirements. Moreover, any harmful substances are removed from the process due to intensive washing during processing of the mixed plastics.
The ‘Sorting rules for mixed plastics’ give an overview of the residual plastics that Ecoo accepts. This follows the example of collection via the pink bag in Flanders (Belgium).
Garden Edging
How does Ecoplanc Edge react to warm temperatures?
The stiffness of Ecoplanc Edge decreases slightly when it gets warmer. The board becomes more flexible, making it easier to work with and to create curves.
Once installed, Ecoplanc Edge is much less affected by temperature fluctuations.
In which colours is Ecoplanc Edge available?
Ecoplanc Edge is available in all sizes in grey, which is the natural colour of our recycled raw materials.
When should I choose Ecolat edging and when Ecoplanc Edge?
For a more subtle and elegant separation, choose Ecolat. For a wider edging with a beveled edge, Ecoplanc Edge is the better choice.
How does Ecolat react to warm temperatures?
The rigidity of Ecolat decreases slightly when it gets warmer. This makes the slat more flexible, so you can work with it more easily and create curves. Once installed, Ecolat is less affected by temperature fluctuations.
What colours is Ecolat available in?
Ecolat is available in grey across the full size range, with brown available in selected sizes.
For more information about colour availability, please contact us.
Is it necessary to pre-drill the Ecolat for attachment to the Ecopics?
Pre-drilling the Ecolat slats is not necessary, unless you want to screw less than 2 cm from the edge of the Ecolat.
Please also refer to the Ecolat edging installation manual for further clarification or check our installation video via our YouTube channel.
Is pre-drilling required to attach Ecoplanc Edge to the Ecopic Edge stakes?
Pre-drilling of the Ecoplanc Edge is not necessary, unless you want to screw closer than 2 cm from the edge of the Ecoplanc Edge.
Please also refer to the installation manual of the Ecoplanc Edge edging for further clarification.
Can I also use the Ecolat on roll for straight edging?
Ecolat on roll is specifically intended for curved and sloping borders and not suitable for straight edging.
Ecolat straight lends itself specifically to straight borders and slight bends, but is not suitable for curved borders.
Can I use Ecoplanc hollow profiles to edge my (swimming) pond?
Ecoplanc is perfect for vertically edging a garden border or path, for edging a square meter of garden, herb garden, vegetable garden, vegetable beds, sandbox, etc.
Using Ecoplanc as a horizontally placed, flat edging - for example, around a pond - is not recommended due to the material's expansion and contraction.
When to choose Ecolat or Ecoplanc for your edging?
For more subtle and elegant garden edging, choose Ecolat; for wider border edges, Ecoplanc is the better choice.
What is the difference between Ecolat and Ecoplanc?
The Ecolat lawn edging is thinner and comes in both straight and curved versions. The Ecoplanc edging is wider than the Ecolat. It can only be used to form straight sections and corners using Ecoplanc Connect.

Composting
What is the difference between the Classic compost bin and the Terragrow 850L?
Both compost bins are made from 100% recycled household plastic waste and help you convert kitchen and garden waste into rich compost. The main differences are in weight, design and ease of use.
- The compost bin Classic is a robust, stately compost bin that is available in different sizes. Its sturdy construction and weight mean that it is not easy to move, but it will last for years. Thanks to the removable dividers, you can easily transfer garden waste from one bin to the other.
 - The Terragrow 850Lweighs 25 kg and is very easy to move. It has a screwless design, so you can easily assemble it with just a few clicks. The patented green roof makes it unique: you can plant it with sedum, flowers or herbs, so that the compost bin blends in beautifully with your garden. The removable panels make it also very easy to scoop out mature compost.
In short: choose the Classic for a sturdy, fixed compost bin with different volumes; choose the Terragrow 850L for a modern, light and versatile design that adapts flexibly to your garden.
Â
How long will it take before I have compost?
On average, it takes 3 to 6 months for your compost to mature. Can't wait?
By regularly turning your compost heap and maintaining a good balance between green and brown material, you can give nature a helping hand!
Is a roof or cover necessary for the compost bin Classic?
The roof or cover is an optional cover for the Ecoo compost bin. It consists of separate gutter-shaped profiles that lie slightly sloping on top of the bin. It allows the mature compost to breathe sufficiently while still draining most of the rainwater. After all, favourable moisture and oxygen levels are essential for good composting. The roof is available separately.
Is the reinforcement bar of the compost bin available seperately?
The reinforcement bar is indeed available separately. Our customer service team will be happy to assist you with this.
Can I compost during the winter period?
Absolutely! The process slows down a little, but your compost continues to work.
Give it a helping hand by adding an insulating layer of leaves or straw.
Want an even more effective solution? Consider a sedum roof with herbs!
This natural roof helps to keep the temperature in the compost bin stable, so the composting process is less likely to come to a standstill in winter.
What can I plant in the Ecoo trays?
The Terragrow 850L compost bin is not only functional, but also an attractive and sustainable addition to the garden. With custom-made trays, you can create extra biodiversity and greenery in an unexpected place. Fill the trays with sedum, annual plants or herbs and you have a real eye-catcher.Â
Are the Terragrow trays optional?
Yes, the Ecoo trays are a great addition to the Terragrow 850L, turning your compost bin into a real eye-catcher for a unique 2-in-1 gardening experience. What's more, this natural insulation protects your compost from drying out, temperature fluctuations and rain.
